What is Micro vascular Surgery?

Microvascular surgery is used to reattach severed fingers, hands, arms, and another amputated parts to the body. This is done by reconnecting the small blood vessels, thus restoring circulation before the injured tissue begins to die. Microvascular is also used in reconstructive surgery.

How is microvascular surgery performed?

Your surgeon uses an operating room microscope, specialized instruments, tiny needles, and ultrafine sutures to repair the blood vessels that are not visible to the human eye. Microscope having magnification of 5 to 40X is used for microsurgery.
